After reading Tempo, I guess one could make the case that the White-man, or anyone from the “outside” world, because of “Cheap Tricks”, would be a corrupted version of the Native America!

However, I am just not sure how the “outside” world would react, as the Native Americans may not have had a dimension of time, only distance. In other words, they may have been connected with their ancestors by distance, how close they felt to them.

In the book, Empire of the Summer Moon, Quanah Parker and the Rise and Fall of the Comanches, the Most Powerful Indian Tribe in American History, the author S.C Gwynne talks about how the Native Americans were connected.

The Native Americans were connected by bands called quantum rings (my term), with the Comanches connected in the center. The only difference between the “rings” was distance, not time.

It was about how they felt about each other at the “moment” that mattered. If a “Cheap Trick” was used, it depended on the distance that they felt from each other, not time in where they want to be in a few years, decades, past millenniums, ….

What’s great about reading these two books is that together these books creates a level of understanding on how those “rings” were put together, and that is an important difference in these two books. Tempo is about structure, while Empire of the Summer Moon is about content.

Together these two books explains that connection, but it takes a real master mind, such as these two authors, to put it all together.

Then it comes down to just asking the question:  because you can change structure with some “Cheap Trick” (cheap in the sense of time), as Tempo explains, does it mean that the “Cheap Trick”, in the content without a sense of time, as the book Empire of the Summer Moon describes, has changed either Space or Time  ?

In other words, do we have a world with Time, or one with Space?

Perhaps that is a question for Quora.

The OODA loop is a wave that keeps re-forming (give itself shape) by using  feedback and feed-ahead Tempos, while the Double Freytag Triangle is a shape that has to re-shape itself after the final Tempo.

One issue, of course, is “who declares” a civil war. I suppose this thankless task is often left to the academics who count them. So, we can add another one to the list. Despite denials, the Syrian Civil War is already well underway.

Just depends on what you mean by repression. Good. Yes. Iran. No.

If you mean by repression, the repression of the Sunni majority by the Sunni military, which the military and Shia leadership supports, then yes. If you mean the Shia leadership is going to repress the Sunni majority, then no.

It could, in the terms of the Arab Spring, represents the coming together of the Sunni and Shia Arabs. The Sunni are going to continue to command, while the Shia are going to control the resources.

But that is another story.

According to RADAR (Respecting Accuracy in Domestic Abuse Reporting) VAWA facilitates immigration fraud in 8 ways:

1.Provides free legal services to persons who merely claim abuse

2.Broadens the definition of “extreme cruelty”

3.Eliminates traditional standards of proof

4.Removes the “substantial connection” requirement

5.Bans all evidence by the alleged abuser, even if it shows fraud or illegal behavior

6.Educates persons on how to take advantage of these VAWA provisions

7.Overrides deportation hearings

8.Provides a loophole for persons in the midst of deportation

I should make it clear that I am not a fan of Haven. I believe it is the agency that allowed a member, who I now call an ex-member,  of our family here in The Dalles to use as an attention-getting device (perhaps cheap trick would be more accurate), when we were most vulnerable, the death of my wife’s niece.

I also believe it was number 1 and number 2 on the list that enabled the ex-member of our family to carryout her “cheap trick” (Tempo, Venkatesh Rao, 2011).

But that is the point. A “cheap trick” “…provides and answer to this question ["What's going on, and what should I do?"], in the form of a key organizing insight that motivates the action in the rest of the deep story…” and every deep story coming into Haven is a “cheap trick”.

But every insight into a story that comes by the form of a “cheap trick” is flawed, “since it is based on the excluding [of] some part of reality as noise” Noise is something that you have to exclude from a conversation, if you are going to hear all of the conversation intact.

Therefore, the logic of an agency such as Haven is flawed to begin with, and the only way to handle the people seeking its services is through un-conditional love.

In other words, the agency has to “1.Provides free legal services to persons who merely claim abuse” because the people merely claiming abuse, maybe as wrong about their situation, as those who are being abused. The people merely claiming abuse may be being abuse, after all it (Haven) is their “cheap trick”, so what do they (the people who are merely claiming abuse) know? And are they (the people who are merely claiming abuse) even able to “think” their story, all the way through, even if they did know the difference in abuse, between abuse and merely claiming abuse?

The same thing goes for the second point listed: “2.Broadens the definition of “extreme cruelty””. In today’s America the people’s emotions are on edge. I see examples of this positioning of emotions everyday. I am not sure anyone in America would know where the boundary is between cruel and extremely cruel, if there is one.

I have to wonder if the people, who wrote this posting referenced, know the boundaries of cruelty and abuse, I don’t envy them if they do?

Perhaps they should throw a few stones, and create their own “cheap” tricks, to draw attention to what they are really after, as I am still not sure.

One common trend we have seen in these interactions is that network actors act of their own volition, not out of compulsion.  When they see the state as legitimate they can support it passionately and productively.  When they see the state as illegitimate they can effectively undermine its authority.

“When they see…” and their ability to “see” is enabled by “cheap tricks”, a point in time that doesn’t take time to create  a “z-axis”  in a structure for all to “see”.

And then again, perhaps we just got their Tempo ( author Venkatesh Rao) wrong.

The “means” isn’t always the way towards the end; it just gives them one point to be there. “There” being somewhere between the start and the end.

The end has two points–the beginning point and the end point. I tend to think that the beginning point is not that important, even if it started 14,000 years ago by some aliens from another world or dimension(s).

This beginning point is not important because everything living is so adaptive, and the environment, in the gap on the way from one point to the other, creates rule-sets that act as a point of means (“moment of inertia” if you will allow me to stray), to the end. The means is only a point on the way to the end; which end is very unclear.

But the environment creates the logic (perhaps through the addition of algorithms) that creates the structure of the movement of the living thing. For thousands of years Africa has said to its people: “Nigeria will accept a $100million bribe rather than let its people enjoy a $100billion project. “run into me, run into the bush. Aren’t they still, in a way, running into that which protects them? A bribe is something given to them, a project is something you work for. Exactly which way are you going to run?

The environment realigns the forces that is made up of rule-sets so that one force doesn’t over-power the other, but is instead perpendicular to the opposing force (either attractive or repulsive) and the result of the perpendicular forces is a structure that enables all forces to live inside the same environment. For Africa that structure was the bush.

I am just saying that between faulting the people and faulting the environment: you can fault the people for being human, but, when the structure is crumbling, one has to look at what brought them here. Now either that bush is going to supply the logic that will protect its people, or it will not.

To me it is the oil and natural resources of the environment that is corrupting Nigeria, and not the people, nor the religions that are the means to their end. The outside forces are pushing against the structure, and there is much fear in the environment that the people live in, just saying….

Beauty, except for my many years knowing you as a Nigerian (I presume a 1%’er) living in Spain, the young African person (probably another 1%’er) who is a friend of my wife’s nephew , and all my other MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Facebook Friends, I don’t know the Nigerian people well  enough to judge the level of fear between them.

What is the level of fear between the people of Nigeria, Africa, and the rest of the MENA? Is it enough for an “Arab” Spring?
